Snow Leopard (Vulnerable)
The snow leopard is a vulnerable species found primarily in the Himalayan Mountains, from Myanmar moving west through China, Nepal, India, Pakistan and back east through Kazakhstan, Mongolia and the Gobi Desert. Snow leopards have a beautiful, thick, gray coat that can measure up to 12 cm in length. They are hunted for their pelts, bones and various other body parts, which are sold illegally. Populations in the wild are also impacted by habitat loss and degradation as well as retaliatory killing.
